I hate to make this into a super ‘religious’ or ‘spiritual’ post,
but what makes me saddest is that it appears this young man died without knowing God. He lived a wonderful life, an incredible life! … but, he didn’t personally know Jesus. My friends, our lives on earth will end. But I truly believe our souls will live for an eternity. There is really only two places our souls will find themselves after death — heaven or hell.
Scripture makes it clear that only those who have a living, personal relationship with God will enjoy Paradise.
How disrespectful of you to imply that David will go to hell because he “didn’t personally know Jesus.” You believe in Jesus, and I respect your belief and all but please do not shove your belief down other’s throat. It is very inconsiderate to turn his tragic death into a “convert to christianity or go to hell” post.
This is wildly inappropriate. Putting religion aside, it’s extremely insensitive to be posting something as crass as this; so shortly after his death. Furthermore, OP is fully aware that all his friends are still in bereavement.
What makes this more absurd is that OP is merely speculating on Mr. Huynh’s religious background. The Bible portrays Jesus as nothing but compassionate. I feel that many of his ‘followers’ have often lost sight of this.
"As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” ”
#He didn’t say “I don’t mean for this to be a fire and brimstone post, but sucks that this young man died without knowing God.”
If Christians seek to be more Christ-like, you should have compassion for the mourning and be a shoulder for David’s friends to cry on. Not make a post like that.
